Albrecht Dürer, The Adoration of the Magi

In 1504, commissioned by Frederick the Wise, Dürer painted The Adoration of the Magi.
A few years earlier he had returned from his first trip through northern Italy and there he hadknown the progress of their southern colleagues .
Therefore, it is a work full of novelties of the Italian Renaissance.

I invite you to celebrate Christmas contemplating and analyzing this wonderful work in the history of Painting.

Happy Holidays to everybody and happy New Year!

(There will be no post next week. We’re taking a short Holidays break)
